For a different perspective on Tunecore

14 Oct

The Cynical Musician has an excellent post this week about Jeff Price, formerly of Tunecore and Tunecore’s business model: “If a Tree Falls in the Forest and Nobody Hears It……will Jeff Price hail it as proof that now’s the best time to be a musician?”

The blog’s editor Faza (follow him @viridian_faza) writes another brilliant blog that is both instructive and hysterically funny about some statements made by the former Tunecore founder.  Price responded with this tweet from The Trichordist:

@thetrichordist start a “Go back to the way it was” movement.  See how many artists you get.

@TuneCoreJeff congrats on your @socanmusic deal, great database for you to use

Not quite sure what that database is, but maybe Price is contemplating a Rightsflow deal.
